Love is Everywhere- A Special Valentine’s Message

I love love! Don’t you? Love is honey for the soul, fragrance for the senses and sunlight for the body.

Love holds hands with grace, gratitude, humility and joy. When we have any one of these feelings, in full strength in our heart space, they join as a team, fluttering within us like dragonflies, creating silly happy feelings and smiles.

I love that there are so many ways to be in love. I love my work, the clients who come to see me. I see their strength and commitment toward growing more toward love.

I love chocolate. Not a lot of chocolate, but I’m fussy about what kind. For me it’s dark chocolate with bits of espresso beans mixed in (“Endangered Species” chocolate bars at Whole Foods – the one with the tiger eyes. Yum.)

Journey of the Heart

Journey of the Heart - SoulCollage card by Judy

I love my friends and the fun and deep connection they offer so fully to my life.

Little white dogs bring an instant smile to my face – they all remind me of Allisun, my Bichon who now continues to wag her tail and adore me from her heaven world.

I love music. Music brings me elsewhere in time and space. Has to be the right music, though. Like many of the CDs I use during healing sessions. Chants, singing bowls, voice toning.  And I love that I learned to drum once with Babatunde Olatunji before he left to show the spirit world a thing or two about rhythm.

I love SoulCollage®. This creative, soulful art process evokes feelings from way deep, where yearning calls on love for healing, wholeness and expression.

Love likes embodiment but not containment, so love loves to be huge. No boundaries. That’s why love seeks outside of us, as free-flowing energy emitting a gift to another being. I love that.

Love desires merging, of course. Wrapped around another body, love is happy with sensual contact. Or, wrapped within us, love offers a palpable force through meditation or yoga. I like that too.

Fortunately, there are so many, many ways to merge with the Divine. Closeness with nature is one of my favorites, as you can tell from three of my blogs about my walks in the woods.

Gazing into someone’s eyes brings about a human and divine merging at once. I’ve been blessed to have a teacher from India whose eyes I look at weekly for a blessing. Thanks to technology, it’s like he is right there, the divine energy emanating right out the computer screen along with EMF waves.

Amma, the hugging saint, is another awakened one who has looked in my eyes. Once when she released her hug, I toppled to the floor, much to the dismay of her assistants there to keep the line moving.

Last blog I wrote I invited you to go to the mirror and look into your eyes and say “I Love You.” This time I want to invite you to look into someone else’s eyes. Send your love at the same time you are receiving love from that person. It doesn’t need to be an “awakened being.”  We are all “awake.” Just try it. Try it not for an instant, but for a long time, like ten minutes. Relax into this pair of eyes before you. Sit close together, knees almost touching. Who is behind these eyes? What is creating that Light? Soften your whole being and allow the Light from both of you to merge. Let it expand. And expand more. Then there will be the two of you as one Light. Notice full heartedly the Love that flows between you…around you…within you. In just a few minutes, you will know your Self as That.

Loving You!

A Bug as Just a Bug

As a kid I grew up on a dead end street with acres of woods behind me.  I used to go out into the woods and explore. I admired the lady slippers growing wild, the scent of the land and leaves. Often I would roll over a rock to see if there were bugs underneath. When there were bugs, I loved to see them scurry when the lid of their home uncovered them. If I lifted a rock and there were no bugs, I was disappointed in the lack of activity.

I still walk through the woods. I never see lady slippers or roll over rocks, but the woods still have magic for me. I breathe in the scents and now I’m apt to sit on a rock, and just look around.

Yesterday after I came back from the woods my neighbor was on her steps and suddenly she blurted “you have a spider on your leg!” I looked down and realized I had walked through the spider’s web and had trouble flinging the critter off me. “Eeeooo” I said, as the insect crept off. Then I instantly thought of the difference between my childhood fascinations of crawly critters and my adult view of a (small) spider on my leg. Then I gently lifted the spider and part of its web off my leg and onto the brick patio.

I wondered …when did bugs become creepy? As a child I had no “filter” about the bugs. No interpretation. No “history” or “story” or any “stuff” in the way. They were just bugs.

That’s what having a great neutrality is about. A way of being in the world that I strive for. Not separation, not defense or resistance, but seeing things just as they are. Just bugs. What makes bugs creepy is fear, but there was no reason to have fear of the little spider on my leg. The little spider triggered old fear from the past that had no relevance in that moment.

Kind of the way people, circumstances and events trigger us into believing there is something wrong or bad or scary simply because of a bad memory, an experience from the past. Staying present, seeing things as they are, means a bug is just a bug.

Spiders come and go but bigger things in life can make us unhappy or pull us off center. What’s bugging you? Does it repeat itself? Is there Truth in it? Can you see it for what it is? Can you witness it? Or, can you let it go?

Can you breathe around it and give it space? If you feel a strong emotion in your body, can you create a conversation with it?

A clear energy system helps us to release the past and the little things that can get in the way of our joy. Life’s triggers may not change, but our reaction to them does. Our reactions are, after all, the only thing that is under our own control.
